The 2025 pool season begins this Memorial Day weekend in the City of Allentown, offering residents and visitors a full summer of recreational opportunities at municipal pools and spray parks.

May 20, 2025 — The 2025 pool season begins this Memorial Day weekend in the City of Allentown, offering residents and visitors a full summer of recreational opportunities at municipal pools and spray parks.

 

To mark the opening of the season, the City will host the Irving Pool Block Party on Friday, May 23 at Irving Pool (802 N. Irving Street). The event will begin at 3:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Festivities will include music, food, games, and entertainment for all ages. Free pool admission will be offered as capacity allows, and the evening will conclude with an outdoor screening of Disney’s Inside Out 2 at dusk.

 

2025 Pool Season Details

Season Passes for Allentown Residents (Non-residents pay higher rates; children under 3 are free)

  • Individual (ages 4–59): $75
  • Senior (60+): $25
  • Veteran / Military: $25
  • Family Pass (4 people): $200
  • Each Additional Family Member: $25

 

Pool Schedules

Cedar Beach Pool

  • May 24 – June 6: Weekends 12–7 p.m.; Weekdays 4–7 p.m.
  • June 7 – September 1: Open daily, 12–7 p.m.

Irving Pool

  • May 23 – June 6: Weekends only, 12–7 p.m.
  • June 7 – August 10: Open daily, 12–7 p.m.
  • August 11 – September 1: Weekends only, 12–7 p.m.

Mack Pool

  • June 14 – August 15: Open daily, 12–7 p.m.
  • Closed June 27–29 for maintenance

 

The City also operates three spray parks, which are open daily at no cost from May 24 to September 1, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Old Fairgrounds, Valania Park, and Bucky Boyle Park.

 

Community Events

  • Movies at the Pool — A spin-off of our popular Movies in the Park series, this is a family-friendly outdoor movie experience hosted at community pools. Admission is free. Each event includes pre-movie activities at 6:30 p.m., followed by the movie at sunset.
    • Friday, May 23 – Inside Out 2 at Irving Pool
    • Friday, June 20 – Mufasa: The Lion King at Cedar Beach Pool (Rain Date: Saturday June 21)
    • Friday, July 11 – Moana 2 at Mack Pool (Rain Date: Saturday, July 12)
  • Doggie Dip Days at Mack Pool – Let your dogs cool off in the pool before the season ends.
    • August 16 & 17 from 12-7 p.m.
