Hamilton Street in the City of Allentown from Tenth Street to 15th Street will have various lane closures beginning on Monday, April 24, for milling and repaving of the road surface from 8am to 7pm daily.
No parking signs will be posted in the daily work area from 7am to 7pm.
The job includes milling of the entire roadway, base repair where necessary, placement of a scratch/leveling course and then completion of the final top/overlay.
Last year, the contractor replaced existing curb ramps with new Americans with Disabilities Act compliant ramps in advance of the milling and resurfacing.
A second section of Hamilton Street from Sixth Street to Railroad Street will be completed later in this construction season.
Bracalente Construction Inc. of Northampton is the PennDOT contractor on this project. The contract for both sections totals $1.78 million.
