About

The mission of the Office of Human Resources is to provide quality customer service in all personnel operations with Integrity, Responsiveness, and Sensitivity to all employees of the City of Allentown and other customers.

The Human Resources department works in partnership with all City Departments to attract, motivate, retain, manage and develop qualified productive employees. The department is responsible for organizing, directing, and administering programs involving recruitment and retention, training & development, salary, benefits, workers compensation, pension, labor relations, Civil Service employment for Fire & Police, and risk and safety program management. We provide support for contract negotiations, labor management, arbitrations, and grievances. The department provides professional advice to Administration, Department Directors, Supervisors and employees of the City of Allentown.
