Holiday Trash & Recycling Schedule

On Thursday night, Christmas Eve, December 24 and Thursday night, New Year’s Eve December 31, there will be NO trash or recycling collection in the city of Allentown. Thursday night recyclers can place their recycling bins out on Friday night, December 25 and January 1.

The next trash collection in this area will be on Monday night, December 28 and Monday night, January 4. Ten bags of trash are allowed on those nights only.

Please remember to recycle cardboard, gift boxes, wrapping paper and greeting cards in your blue recycling bin. Bows and metallic paper are not permitted.

Christmas trees and other yard waste will be collected on your recycling night the second and fourth weeks of January (January 10 and January 24). Residents should take the tree out of the stand and remove all decorations. Trees should not be placed in a plastic bag. No artificial trees will be accepted. The collection will be weather dependent.

The Yard Waste Site at 1401 Oxford Drive will be open on Saturday, January 9, February 6 and March 5 from 10am to 12pm weather permitting for yard waste drop-off and electronics recycling. The city will accept computers, keyboards, monitors, electronics, printers, scanners, laptops and televisions for recycling from Allentown residents only. There is a limit of 2 TVs or 1 Projection TV per vehicle per day.
