Registration is now open for the City of Allentown’s King of the Court and Queen of the Court fall basketball season!
Queen of the Court is a free six-week basketball program offered by the City’s Department of Parks and Recreation for girls in grades 2 to 7 that attend school in Allentown. This year’s schedule for Queen of the Court will be Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. from September 25 to November 1 in the gymnasium of Trexler Middle School at 851 N. 15th Street.
New this fall, we will offer 2 sessions for Queen of the Court participants from 6:00pm-7:00pm for grades 2, 3, & 4, and 7:00pm-8:00pm for grades 5, 6, & 7.
King of the Court is modeled after Queen of the Court but offered for boys in grades 2 to 7 that attend school in Allentown. King of the Court will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. from September 25 to November 1 in the gymnasium of East Side Youth Center at 1140 E. Clair St. Allentown, PA 18109.
The programs are tailored to introduce basketball basics to beginners, as well as to help refine the efforts of more skilled players. Coaches use the game to also teach life skills, confidence, teamwork, and empowerment.
Parents will need to create an account at www.allentownparksandrec.com, receive approval, and then register their child before the start of the program.
