About

The Bureau of Streets plays a vital role in maintaining Allentown's streets, alleys, and utility infrastructure. Our responsibilities span various tasks, from road reconstruction and pothole repairs to stormwater management and snow removal.

 

Key responsibilities include:

    • Paving and reconstructing streets, alleys, and utility cut restorations.
    • Addressing sinkholes, frost boils, and potholes.
    • Implementing stormwater procedures to meet city requirements and monitor water quality in watersheds.
    • Conducting civic service projects and responding to emergencies.
    • Managing snow removal, salting, sanding, and plowing during winter (November to April).
    • Removing leaves from city streets and conducting hand sweeping in certain areas.
