The Senior Services program is dedicated to enhancing the safety, well-being, and independence of older adults within the Allentown community. We offer a comprehensive range of initiatives tailored to address specific needs and ensure seniors can live active and secure lives.
Matter of Balance: Designed for individuals aged 60 and older, Matter of Balance is an eight-week class focusing on practical strategies to reduce fear of falling and increase activity levels. Participants learn to control and reduce fall risks, set achievable goals, modify environments, and improve strength and balance.
Senior Home Safety Visitation Program: For Allentown residents aged 55 and older, our program conducts safety surveys in homes, identifying and removing potential hazards that could lead to injuries. We provide essential supplies such as smoke detectors, anti-slip mats, pill containers, and flashlights to prevent accidents.
CarFit: CarFit is an educational program catering to older adults, ensuring their vehicles suit their needs and safety requirements. Our trained technicians and health professionals conduct personalized checks to optimize comfort and safety while driving. These events occur at various community sites.
Our mission is to empower older adults by providing them with valuable resources, education, and support to enhance safety, mobility, and independence, allowing seniors to live active and fulfilling lives within our community.
