Change is coming to the top of the Allentown Fire Department. Mayor Ed Pawlowski announced today that Fire Chief Bob Scheirer has decided to retire and that Deputy Chief of Operations Bob Kudlak is being promoted to interim fire chief.

Due to the extreme cold weather and post-snowstorm plowing and cleanup operations, the City of Allentown electronics recycling event and yard waste drop-off scheduled for Saturday, January 4, 2014 is cancelled.

Waste Management cancelled overnight Thursday trash and recycling collection in the City of Allentown. Waste Management will do a double trash collection on Monday, January 6 for those residents with Monday / Thursday night trash collection.
