Halloween Parade Set for Sunday, October 16

The lineup is set for the 2016 Allentown Halloween Parade! The parade will step-off from the Allentown Fairgrounds on Sunday, October 16 at 2:00pm. It will proceed on 17th Street to Hamilton Street and will conclude at Ninth Street.

This year’s diverse and exciting parade lineup promises to showcase Allentown’s Halloween spirit! The parade exhibits the city’s playful side with this year’s theme, “Game On!” New and returning participants will adhere to the theme with players or characters from their favorite sports games, board games or video games.

With 11 youth and adult performing bands, the 2016 Allentown Halloween Parade offers an abundance of musical entertainment. The Allentown Hobo “Almost” Marching Band and the Allentown All-City Band are back again in 2016 in addition to the Allentown School District high school and middle school bands.

Performance groups X-CAPE, Small Steps Big Dreams, and the Hispanic American League of Artists are also sprinkled into the parade lineup.

B104 morning show hosts Mike Kelly and Stephanie Wells will emcee this year’s parade, at the Judges’ Reviewing Stand, located at 12th & Hamilton streets.

“Allentown’s Halloween Parade is an outstanding tradition that demonstrates our community spirit and variety of talent and creativity right here in the city,” said Parks & Recreation Director Lindsay Taylor. “I hope to see many game characters and players out along the parade route, enjoying the festivities with their friends and families!”

Parade spectators and participants are encouraged to use the facebook and twitter tag “#hallentownparade” for the event.

Information on alternative routes for motorists to avoid the parade route will be available from the Parks Department page of the city website.

The rain date for the parade is Sunday, October 23.
