Community Development Block Grant- Recovery Act (CDBG-R)

The Community Development Block Grant- Recovery (CDBG-R) Program enables local governments to undertake a wide range of activities intended to create suitable living environments, provide decent affordable housing and create economic opportunities, primarily for persons of low and moderate income. Under the Recovery Act, recipients shall give priority to projects that can award contracts based on bids within 120 days of the grant agreement.

The City of Allentown prepared an action plan amendment. HUD approved the plan in an expedited manner, executed grant agreements, and made the funds available in the City's line of credit.  Progress is underway and reports are available in the area to the right of this page.
