Electricians’ Licensing Information

An applicant must submit an Electrical License Application and an application fee to the Electricians’ Examining Board, through the Building Office at City Hall, 435 Hamilton Street, 4th Floor, Allentown. The applicant must be approved by the Board prior to taking the exam.  Once approved, the applicant will be provided instructions on how to register with ICC and take the exam applied for at their convenience.  The City of Allentown uses the ICC standard exams.  After the applicant passes the exam, the applicant will pay for and receive their license.  The Business Regulation and Tax Code lists the license fees.  Electricians licenses must be renewed each calendar year.
